R.P.D. SECURE BBS NODE: #042
CLASSIFIED // EYES ONLY – S.T.A.R.S. DIVISION
MESSAGE ID: RC-26-1107-REBCM
AUTHOR: Chambers, Rebecca (Bravo Team, Medic)

SUBJECT: Post-Mansion Summary: Preliminary Findings & Unexplained Events

This entry is for internal review pending official inquiry. All findings remain unverified by higher command.

01. INCIDENT OVERVIEW
────────────────────────────────────────────
On July 23, Bravo Team deployed to the Arklay Mountains to investigate a string of homicides marked by extreme violence and possible viral infection vectors. Contact was lost shortly after insertion.

Alpha Team subsequently recovered surviving Bravo members (self included) and initiated search and rescue operations leading to the discovery of a private estate now confirmed as *Umbrella Corporation property* (Spencer Mansion). The estate functioned as a concealed bioengineering research facility.

Casualties from both teams are substantial. Confirmed survivors include: C. Redfield, J. Valentine, B. Burton, and myself. Status of A. Wesker: deceased (classified as *compromised*).

────────────────────────────────────────────
02. OBSERVATIONS ON BIOHAZARD AGENTS
────────────────────────────────────────────
Recovered samples and field data suggest the presence of a mutagenic viral weapon designated only as "t‑Virus." Manifestations include rapid necrosis, cellular reactivation, and behavioral aggression consistent with loss of higher cortical function.

Secondary mutations observed:
- "Cerberus" canines: Containment breach subjects.
- "Hunter" species: Bioengineered for combat; strong regenerative ability.
- Experimental Tyrant: supersoldier project, terminated with extreme prejudice.

Based on facility logs, the outbreak originated from containment failure approximately 2–3 weeks prior to Bravo insertion. Environmental readings confirmed airborne and waterborne exposure risk inside the estate, yet no known aerosol transmission beyond its perimeter (as of evacuation).

03. COMMAND AND COVER-UP
────────────────────────────────────────────
Official line from R.P.D. upper brass states "training accident" with zero civilian risk. However, internal Umbrella personnel data (recovered terminal logs) show active interference with rescue communication channels.
Recommendation: All S.T.A.R.S. reports should be encrypted and transmitted solely through authenticated BBS uplinks. Avoid paper trails.

Wesker's compromised status correlates with direct Umbrella oversight. Evidence indicates he acted as company liaison, deliberately steering operations toward data recovery rather than rescue.

04. PERSONAL REMARKS
────────────────────────────────────────────
I've run through every rational explanation, and none account for how easily this was contained—or why we're being silenced. Umbrella's presence runs deeper than we realized. If further outbreaks occur, they'll be far beyond our capacity to manage.

Until we have outside confirmation, assume all R.P.D. channels are monitored. I've encrypted complete biological field notes under partition RC-β4 for authorized peer review (contact: Redfield, Valentine).

Stay cautious. We've only seen the surface layer of what's to come.
